The M&H Art&Craft series provides a rare opportunity to discover some of the distillery’s most intriguing, treasured casks. Every year, a collection of unique casks of exceptional quality is hand-selected by our Head Distiller, Tomer Goren, to be bottled as a highly limited edition as part of the M&H Art&Craft series. This year you are invited to discover our unique beer casks collection, single malt whiskies matured in different craft beer casks.
ART&CRAFT BELGIAN ALE BEER CASK
This single malt whisky has been fully matured in ex-Jems 8.8 – a strong Belgian ale style beer casks from the Jems Brewery.
aroma
Nutmeg sharpness. Cinnamon and clove warmth, covered by citrus bitter and white raisins.
palate
Generously sugared apple pie. Gentle white pepper and warm spices atop licorice root.
finish
Fresh peppermint, licorice candy, coriander seeds and soft milk chocolate.
ART&CRAFT BARLEY WINE CASK
This single malt whisky has been fully matured in ex-beer casks from the prominent and creative Alexander Brewery. These casks, originally ex-bourbon casks granted to Alexander by M&H, were in-turn used for the maturation of a special barley wine.
aroma
Sour plums candied with raw honey, sprinkled with cardamom.
palate
Earl grey tea with a side of toasted granola and a slight hint of white peppercorns.
finish
Charred oak, herbal with crushed basil and sage leaves.
ART&CRAFT STOUT BEER CASK
This single malt whisky has been fully matured in ex- stout beer casks from the creative Malka Brewery, one of the major craft breweries in Israel.
aroma
Indulgent chocolate milk spiced with nutmeg, accompanied by baked pear.
palate
Coffee and clotted cream topped with grated hazelnuts.
finish
Peach cobbler and fresh spearmint, gentle allspice notes.
ART&CRAFT DOPPELBOCK BEER CASK
This single malt whisky has been fully matured in special DoppelBock (double-bock) beer casks from the highly-acclaimed HaAretz Brewery. One of the casks in the edition spent a full year of its maturation in the M&H Dead Sea Project, enhancing its flavor to the maximum.
aroma
Light to medium – Opens up with citrus, wildflowers, and golden-delicious apple and evaporates to toffee, tobacco, and dark chocolate.
palate
Present to full – Vigorous orange ether and marzipan, green apple and orange peel in dark chocolate.
finish
Distinct ripe banana accompanied with spearmint. Dark red apple, cocoa beans, and biscuit gently take over.
Art&craft Ex-Islay IPA CASK
This single malt whisky has been fully matured in Peated IPA beer casks from the celebrated Dictator Beer Company.
aroma
Gentle smoke and sea salt, fragrant with wild hops and grapefruit pill, a hint of raisins.
palate
Peated and earthy, roasted marshmallow complimented by fresh mint and green aniseed.
finish
Long and steady with notes of natural charcoal, black pepper and green tea with bergamot oil.
